Solomon details tactical reset behind Millwall comeback

West Ham's half-time reset was more than a demand for greater fight. A switch to 3-5-2 gave them a better attacking shape, before Manor Solomon's move into the No10 role helped finish the recovery from 2-0 down at Millwall.

Solomon said West Ham had failed to handle Millwall's intensity, long throws and set pieces in a dreadful first half. The Hammers improved after the break, then moved Solomon inside when Edvin Austbø was introduced on the left.

From that central position, Solomon crossed for Dinos Mavropanos to head the equaliser. He said he was proud of the response and felt West Ham deserved the point, even if needing such a rescue told its own story about the opening 45 minutes.
