West Ham talks with Celtic over Engels reported

West Ham were reported to be in talks with Celtic over Arne Engels, the first available account to take this story beyond interest alone.

Sky Sports News, as cited by Sports Mole, said discussions were under way ahead of the 2026-27 season. Sports Mole said Celtic wanted at least £25m and Nottingham Forest remained interested after having an official bid rejected on the final day of the winter window.

A later Glasgow Evening Times report, citing The Scottish Sun, said West Ham were expected to return with a third bid after Freddie Potts's £10m move to Club Brugge. That was still a claim about what might happen next. It did not establish that another offer had been submitted or that Celtic had agreed a deal.
