O’Neill believes Engels is undergoing West Ham medical

Arne Engels is probably undergoing a medical ahead of a move to West Ham, Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has said. Close, then, but not completed.

O’Neill said West Ham wanted Engels available for the opening day of the season and spoke of Celtic’s disappointment at losing the midfielder. The Irish Examiner reports that Engels is set to join West Ham.

A medical is a late step, not confirmation that the transfer is complete.
