Herrick injury report raises goalkeeper concern before QPR

Claret&Hugh reported on 28 September that Finlay Herrick was injured and said there was no update on Alphonse Areola's return. Referring to an earlier observation by Gonzo, it described Mads Hermansen as West Ham's only fit senior goalkeeper at that point. West Ham World has since reported that Herrick and Areola were pictured training at Rush Green. The photographs do not confirm that either will be fit or selected against Queens Park Rangers on 9 October.

Claret&Hugh says an emergency goalkeeper loan would not normally be available while Hermansen remains fit and available. That is the outlet's conditional reading of the rules, not a report that West Ham have applied for a loan. The goalkeeper options for QPR remain to be confirmed.
