Nuno demands defensive improvement before Wrexham
Castellanos improving but Wrexham decision pending
Taty Castellanos’s tendon problem is improving, but West Ham have not yet decided whether he can face Wrexham on Friday night. Nuno Espírito Santo said the forward is one of several players being assessed after a demanding run of matches.
Castellanos felt pain and was substituted during the 3-0 win over Derby, then missed Tuesday’s 3-2 victory at Bolton. Alphonse Areola is also improving from a dead leg and is being checked day by day.
Tomáš Souček has resumed parts of team training and is doing extra individual fitness work following his ankle ligament injury. Nuno gave no return date, saying full fitness comes first.
