Souček says West Ham must start faster after Southampton defeat

Tomáš Souček's 50th West Ham goal offered little comfort after the 3-2 defeat to Southampton. He said the team were disappointed to lose at home and needed to stop giving opponents an early advantage.

Souček came off the bench and scored in stoppage time, after Southampton had struck twice in the opening 11 minutes and added a third before half-time. Speaking to West Ham Official, he said the side must improve its opening minutes and work on keeping clean sheets. He was proud to reach 50 goals, but said the team's league position mattered more.
