Amanda Staveley’s bid for West Ham shares
Amanda Staveley’s consortium agreed to buy the Gold family’s 25% West Ham stake, but the resulting shareholder process produced an agreement for Daniel Křetínský to become the club’s largest single shareholder instead.
West Ham have confirmed the agreement, although the transactions are not yet complete.
No-Guff Summary
- West Ham have confirmed Křetínský has agreed to acquire enough shares to become the club’s largest shareholder.
- The reported split would give him 46%, with David Sullivan on 40% and Tripp Smith on 11%.
- The transactions are not complete; Křetínský says he will address supporters after completion.

Gold reportedly serves completion notice on Křetínský share deal
Daniel Křetínský’s reported move towards a 46% West Ham stake now has a deadline, but it is not yet a completed deal.
West Ham Zone, citing Times journalist Matt Lawton, says Vanessa Gold has served a completion notice on the sale of the Gold family shares. The report says the money must be paid by the end of the week for the transaction to go through.
The expected split would leave Křetínský as the largest shareholder on 46%, with David Sullivan on 40% and Tripp Smith on 11%. West Ham have not confirmed the transaction.
The notice puts a clock on the process, not a full stop under it. Staveley’s immediate route through the Gold shares appears closed if the reported deal completes, but the club has not announced that it has.
