Füllkrug completes season-long Werder loan
Niclas Füllkrug has joined Werder Bremen on a season-long loan from West Ham, ending weeks of transfer noise with a third spell at the club.
SportBILD, as reported by Sport Witness, says Füllkrug did much of the pushing himself. He met Werder officials in Hanover on 12 August without an agent after keeping in contact with the club since May, then returned to West Ham with the proposal.
The same account says the clubs agreed a loan until 2027 with no fee and no option to buy. That description fits a season-long deal for 2026/27. Füllkrug's annual wage is reported to have fallen from about €5m at West Ham to about €2m at Werder.
Werder also reportedly offered him a leadership and mentoring role, plus a post-career trainee programme which could lead to coaching or management work. Venezia had earlier baulked at West Ham's reported €5m asking price. The transfer is complete. The finer terms remain SportBILD's account.
