Jarrod Bowen Transfer

Started Last Movement

Jarrod Bowen has pledged to stay at West Ham and target an immediate return to the Premier League. Reports of a deal through 2030 and a promotion-linked release clause concern a possible route next summer if West Ham fail to go up, not an exit this summer.

Bowen deal reportedly includes promotion-linked release clause

Bowen's new commitment reportedly has a very specific escape hatch: it would apply only if West Ham fail to bounce straight back up. West Ham Zone, relaying Roshane Thomas of The Athletic, says the revised agreement contains a release clause allowing the captain to leave next summer if the Hammers miss immediate promotion.

No value for the clause has been disclosed. West Ham Zone's suggestion of a figure around £20 million is its own estimate, not a number attributed to Thomas or established as part of the contract.

Bowen has pledged to stay and target promotion, while the reported adjustment leaves the deal's 2030 end date unchanged. On this account, the clause is a consequence of failing to go up, not a route out this summer.
