Club tells supporters to stop Solomon chant
West Ham have told supporters to stop the chant about Manor Solomon which the club described as offensive, divisive and carrying an anti-Palestine message.
The New Arab reports that the chant was heard among travelling supporters during the 2-2 draw at Burnley. The club’s statement, also reported by BBC Sport and Anadolu Agency, says every supporter should be able to attend without fear, discrimination or abuse.
There is little room for euphemism here. West Ham have asked for the chant not to be repeated and told supporters to back the team without creating division or offence.
