Hurst receives Freedom of the City of London
Sir Geoff Hurst has added the Freedom of the City of London to a list of honours few footballers could match. He received the award at Guildhall in recognition of his sporting achievements.
The City of London Corporation's elected Court of Common Council approved the honour after nominations from Dame Susan Langley and Chris Hayward. Hurst said it was an unexpected privilege and a great honour.
Mark Noble, himself a Freeman of the City of London, represented West Ham at the ceremony.
