Ward-Prowse's West Ham history before Southampton visit
James Ward-Prowse could face his former club on Saturday, but the payback angle belongs to Saints Marching, not the player.
The outlet counts 19 career appearances against West Ham and six goal contributions. In Southampton's 3-2 win at the London Stadium on Boxing Day 2021, Ward-Prowse scored and assisted Jan Bednarek's winner. Saints Marching says he returned to Southampton this summer for £800,000. Whether he has a score to settle is the outlet's interpretation of his motivation.
