Parker wants Cardiff response to carry into Blackburn

Scott Parker wants West Ham's second half at Cardiff to be the standard at Blackburn on Saturday. The comeback from 3-0 down earned a 3-3 draw, but Parker said the slow start and the need for consistency were lessons from his first match in charge.

Speaking to West Ham's media after his first training session, Parker said the aggressive, front-footed second half was the football he wants to see. He described Blackburn as a competitive side under Tony Mowbray and said West Ham must bring that level more regularly.

Parker also said promotion is the reason he took the job and that he is looking forward to working with Mark Noble. That ambition is clear enough. The next test is whether West Ham can put together more than one good half.
