Staveley confirms West Ham bid has failed
Amanda Staveley has confirmed her consortium failed to buy into West Ham after existing shareholders used their rights under the shareholders’ agreement. The proposed ownership change is off.
Staveley said the original offer covered David Sullivan’s 38.8% stake and Vanessa Gold’s 25.1% holding. Several reports say Daniel Křetínský increased his stake to 46% after existing shareholders exercised their rights, making him West Ham's largest shareholder. That is not a majority stake.
She said the consortium had wanted to make a positive difference at the club and remains open to working with the current shareholders, unless it pursues one of the other opportunities now on the table. The interest survives. The deal does not.
